Normally power lines are quite safe to walk under, but should a storm bring down live wires they are extremely dangerous. Some concerned citizens believe that radiation from high voltage power lines is a health hazard. Most authorities suggest that even if this is true, it will only affect those that spend days or months and years in their vicinity. Casual walking is very unlikely to result in any detectable harm.
